I think she was dealing with the fact that I didn't know who she was, and that she was married to me. And ... I'm not even really sure if the Stefan she knows is me, but that's ... something else entirely.

[a beat]

It's only been a few days. I'm sure she'll get around to it.

Wait. What do you mean, you're not sure the Stefan she knows is you?

She knows a Stefan Salvatore, and the one that she knows is a vampire, but he's a vampire that was born in Florence in the 1500s. She also said she's from a town called "Fell's Church" not Mystic Falls.

Huh?

[No really. She doesn't get that at all.]

Did she hit her head? I mean, maybe she's here after something horrible. There's been a lot of that going around.

[She takes a breath.] Hold on.

[She's going to take her phone and run through the contact list, but she's not going to find a Bennett, Bonnie in there or a Bonnie Bennett.]

Are you sure it's Bonnie? [She'd say it's Katherine lying to him, but he knows Katherine. Maybe it's Isobel... or someone else.]

Because she's not in the directory. I looked under Bennett and Bonnie.

Wait, Bennett?

[THAT makes some semblance of sense. The Bennett witches have been living on and off in Mystic Falls for the better part of a century and a half. But this also means they're DEFINITELY not the same person.]

No, she said her last name was McCullough.

Oh. No, that's not Bonnie. Maybe it's a Bonnie, but it's not the Bonnie that is from Mystic Falls.

That makes a little more sense.

[there's a pause]

So Bonnie is a Bennett witch?

Yes. It's... it's in her family lineage. [Actually, before Caroline arrived she was with Bonnie and her birth mom. Another long story.]

I've known a Bennett witch or two over the years. Emily Bennett was a friend.

[or, at least he considered her one.]

Yeah, she kind of gets her possession on. Not exactly friendly, those witches.

Vampires and witches don't exactly have the best relationship.

Well, Bonnie is my best friend. You sort of get along with her... well, better than Damon at least.

Very few people get along with Damon.

It's ... God, I keep using the word complicated, but really it's very complicated.

Definitely. But, I was with Bonnie before I came here. Her and her mom.

Nope. Not that Bonnie. Bonnie Bennett. Best friend. Amazing witch. From Mystic Falls.

And Bennett makes more sense.

I still don't know how to explain what she knows, though.

I don't know that either, I mean, it's nothing I've seen before. Not even here.

I guess we'll just have to see what happens.
